Here are three ideas for residents of smaller homes, condos or apartments that you can use to help organize your belongings as efficiently as possible.
Use hooks
Hooks can be a good solution for storing and organizing. Place hooks in areas that are generally not seen, like on the wall to the back of your closet or behind doors. Hang bags on the hooks and fill them with extra clothes, books and other items, creating some extra storage space.
If you are renting, however, be sure to ask permission from the owner or landlord before making holes in any walls or doors. Another option is to use adhesive-based hooks for lighter items and hook systems that hang over the tops of doors.
Use suitcases
If you have empty suitcases stored in your closets, use them to store seasonal jackets, blankets and other belongings you don’t use often.
Check under the bed
You may be surprised with how much storage space is under your bed! Use shorter plastic bins or cardboard boxes to store your extra clothes and other belongings, and safely tuck them under your bed.
